This week I joined the YMCA. I made the switch because ever since after the holidays when the horrific Winter set in, my workouts have not been consistent AT ALL. I blamed the weather; “Oh, Winter is for hibernating anyway, right?”
Since it has stopped snowing and the weather is getting progressively warmer, I still feel like I am lacking that motivation to sweat. Yeah, some weeks I was diligent with long power-walks outside, but then I would go days or even a whole week without exercising.
SO, I cancelled my membership with my old gym, which I will not name, and joined the Downtown YMCA in the heart of RVA.
The facility itself is so nice and clean, and the staff are super friendly. I hope to navigate through the group exercise classes and determine which ones are right for me.
Having already completed a 45 min. cardio workout this morning, I sort of forgot how GOOD it feels to workout my body! I feel like my head is a little more clear and I’m ready to take on this day.
It will certainly be a journey to get back to the fitness level I was at a couple years ago, but I’m ready to do it now!

So, everyone’s time can be now, and I think now, today, I’m ready to be the best version of myself for ME and the best version for others.
