Design Project Update

Good Saturday morning!!

Today marks the start of my WEEK LONG vacation!!! We leave Sunday for Emerald Isle, BUT before I head off to paradise, I want to update you on my design project.

I stayed in last night and completed the presentation for Lynn and Kyle’s living room. I thought Power Point was the best way to present product findings in categories.

The first category was Side Tables. Side Tables are a great way for creating more surface area. Garden Seats specifically, are so much fun for placing small books, cocktails, and small plates of appetizers when entertaining. I suggested that Lynn and Kyle place a side table or two beside their sofa and beside the oversized chair.

Slide1On these side tables, light is needed. The only light source in Lynn and Kyle’s living room right now is from the light fixture/ceiling fan. I suggest they place at least two or three lamps in the room. A table lamp on a side table and a floor lamp beside their sofa, or anywhere else of their choosing. If they choose to invest in a couple bookshelves and place their existing side table between them, I reccommend a smaller table lamp on that table, or an even smaller lamp on one of the shelves!

Next up is mirrors. Mirrors add light and expansion to any room. In searching for ideas for Lynn and Kyle, I found a popular trend in mirrors to be “stacking” or a collage of mirrors, as well as linear pairings. Lynn and Kyle have a lot of space on their walls, so a trio of mirrors or a single piece will do wonders to the room.

Slide5Lastly, I recommend that Lynn and Kyle incorporate art and/or photography in the room. Again, there is lots of wall space to the left of their fireplace, so if they choose to place their oversized chair at an angle by the wall, I think two or three pieces of art would look very nice here. Another option for placing art would be over the sofa, if they don’t like the mirror idea. Included in the slide below are two additional side table options, which are actually MY favorite!

Slide2So, those are all of my suggestions! Now I just have to see what Lynn and Kyle like or don’t like and go from there! An additional appointment at their house may be needed to help tie everything together.

Have a wonderful weekend! Expect to see “flash” posts from the Beach 🙂

XOXO,

Ellen
