Switching It Up

This morning I decided to switch things up and had something I would normally have for lunch if I were home during the day. Avocado toast + hard-boiled egg + raspberry jam.

Truth is, I consumed wayyyy too much for dinner last night, and was not particularly hungry this morning and wanted something different than what I went overboard with the night before. I could never just skip breakfast, no matter how full I feel.

Here’s how it went down. I didn’t feel like cooking or assembling any dinner last night after my Junior League meeting, so I picked up a vegetarian bowl + chips at Chipotle. Note: Vegetarian bowls are a lot less spicy, for those who are sensitive! So, I ordered a massive vegetarian bowl (the server put way too much cheese and guac.). I ate 2/3 of the bowl and saved the rest for lunch today. But I kept on eating; trying to feed my sweet tooth, I ate the sweetest things I had in my house. Grapes, PB/Choc. Larabar, almond butter, apple slices, and topped it off with a homemade oats concoction consisting of oats, almond butter, maple syrup, and cocoa powder. BOOM. WOW. That’s a lot of food when I type it all here.

Triggers; Full plate (other than food!); leading a committee in Junior League, dealing with a demeaning boss during my last week at my current job, being unsure of my schedule at my soon-to-be new job, CC dept, etc.

This post is all over the place, but since I just listed those sorry excuses of which makes me sound like a very depressed person, here are the JOYS and GOOD in my life: Family, Friends, Faith, Health, Junior League, Work, Creativity.

It’s funny how the joys in your life can also turn into triggers, but it’s all in how you deal with it and balance it.

I’m working on coming out of this funk and have great ideas for coping; planning out my week on Sundays, listening to a favorite song to let my mind wander when I want to eat more, taking up yoga again, going for walks, praying, painting, coloring (yes, coloring!) etc.
